We are excited to announce a brand-new feature: Snapshots for all PreVPS VPS plans. This is a powerful tool that allows you to store and manage the state of your VPS flexibly and securely.
What is a Snapshot?
A Snapshot is a full copy of your VPS disk at a specific point in time that YOU manually create. Unlike automatic Backups, Snapshots allow you to:
✅ Create on demand: Take a snapshot before system updates, software installations, or important changes
✅ Permanent storage: Snapshots remain forever until you decide to delete them
✅ Independent from the VPS: Even if the original VPS is deleted, your snapshot is preserved
✅ No time limit: Not automatically deleted or overwritten like backups

Quick Usage Guide
Step 1: Create a Snapshot
Log in to Client Area
Go to Services → My Services → Select VPS
Click the “Snapshots” button
Enter a description (example: “Before-Nginx-Update”)
Click “Buy Snapshot” → Complete payment
Step 2: Use the Snapshot
Rebuild VPS: Dropdown menu → “Rebuild from Snapshot”
Rename: Dropdown menu → “Change Description”
Delete: Click “Delete” button (only available if unpaid)
Important Notes
We strongly recommend shutting down the VPS before creating a snapshot to ensure data consistency. Snapshots can be created while the VPS is running, but 100% data consistency is not guaranteed.
Snapshots do NOT include attached volumes. Only the main VPS disk is snapshotted.
Limits
Maximum 30 snapshots per account.
Architecture must match:
x86 snapshot → can only rebuild to x86 VPS
ARM64 snapshot → can only rebuild to ARM64 VPS
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will my snapshot be lost if I delete the VPS?
A: NO. Snapshots are independent and remain intact after VPS deletion.
Q: Can I create a VPS in a different datacenter from a snapshot?
A: YES. Snapshots are not location-bound. You can deploy a new VPS in any datacenter.
Q: Where are snapshots stored?
A: Automatically stored in a different datacenter from the original VPS (except Ashburn, Hillsboro, Singapore – same location).
Q: Do snapshots update automatically?
A: NO. Snapshots are static at the time of creation. You must manually create a new snapshot for updates.
Q: Can I move snapshots between projects?
A: YES (this feature will be available in an upcoming update).
